[700] "Dear Dr. Ciolek, Hereby I kindly request to have my dharma name added to your online catalog of zen buddhist names. I was given the name Jizō by my first teacher Willem Kando Scheepers of Zentrum, Utrecht, The Netherland. Kando Osho is a Dharma successor of Niko Tydeman in the White Plum Asanga. Currently I am connected to the Zen River Temple community (Tenkei and Myoho roshi).
Thank you very much for taking this request into consideration,
Kind regards,
Monique Jizō Rietveld Groenlo, The Netherlands", email, 3 Jul 2024 & "Dear Dr. Ciolek, Thank you for your swift and kind response.
The aspect of the vast implications of the dharma name of O-Jizo-sama, that was particularly stressed during the 2016 jukai ceremony, is JizoÕs vow to save all Ôhopeloze gevallen (Dutch)Õ, that is: hopeless cases.
This aspect was related to by my teacher because of my dedication to the wellbeing of prisoners, working as a Buddhist chaplain in jail (and currently as head of the Buddhist spiritual care departement). Kando was also referring to my [... involvement in ...] care-giving to [... a child ...] who was born with DownÕs syndrome. As further reference a picture of my o-kesa is attached to this message.
Gassho and again many thanks, Hartelijke groet, Kind regards, Monique Rietveld" email, 4 Jul 2024

[721] "Marek Prejzner (his name at that time) [PREJZNER, Sthaman Genmon Unsan Marek - see 005] and I [...] started practicing Zen Buddhism in Bodhidharma Zen Center in Warsaw, Poland about the year of 1986. In 1990, I visited the Toronto Zen Center where Zenson was a teacher at that time. Roshi Kapleau appointed Zenson to work with the Polish Sangha when he couldn't go to Poland anymore because of his health, and we both had practiced with him before coming to the US. Since 1993, we had continued our Zen practice in the United States at the Rochester Zen Center and Chicago Zen Center for a whiel [sic!]. We also went to sessions at the Madison Zen Center.
I am submitting the pictures with St[h]aman's Dharma name (Deep Mist) and my Dharma name (Earth Vow) [...] I received mine (since you asked about that) on November 29, 1997 in Rochester, NY from Sensei Bodhin Kjolhede.
