Here is the information I promised regarding my first Jukai cohort as Hoshi (assistant teacher) at Southern Palm Zen Group. I was transmitted as Sensei that same week.
The three students were:
Michael Cicalese (Shindo) Faith in the Way
Karl Marshall (Kaijun) Ocean of Kindness
Thomas McGovern (Tosu) Earth Protector
The ceremony was March 15, 2025 in Boca Raton, Florida.
My teacher witnessed the ceremony. Her name is Jane Jishin Faysash, transmitted by Michael Doshin Cantor (founder of Southern Palm Zen Group). His transmitting teacher was Peter Muryo Mattiessen; transmitted by Bernie Tetsugen Glassman, transmitted by Taizan Maezumi Roshi.
