"Hello Mr. Ciolek,
I am on the clergy of the Buddhist Temple of Toledo. Thank you for your American transmission records! If you would kindly update your records, I have a new name to add. Thank you for considering it.
In the John Tarrant line, through James Ishmael ZENŌ MYŌUN Ford, through Jay Ryudo Rinsen Weik.
Weik, Karen Ryudo Do'on received Denbo/Sensei transmission from Jay Ryudo Rinsen Weik in 2022, and Inka Shomei/Roshi in 2024.
"Karen DoÕon Weik Sensei is a Soto Zen priest and co-founder of the Buddhist Temple of Toledo and the Drinking Gourd Institute. Rev. Do'on received Denkai transmission from Rinsen on August 15, 2015, followed by Denbo transmission in April 2022. She is also influenced by the teachings of Gelek Rimpoche.
She began her Zen studies while in college in the 1980s. For the first ten years of her practice, her teacher was Richard Clarke. She met her husband, Rev. Jay Rinsen Weik, at the Shobu Aikido of Boston in 1993. By 1994, they were studying Zen together with John Daido Loori, late-Abbott of Zen Mountain Monastery in the Catskills and then, in 2004, with Bonnie Myotai Treace Sensei, Daido roshiÕs first dharma heir. In 2009, she was confirmed as a Senior Dharma Teacher and ordained as a Zen Buddhist Priest by Melissa Roshi in the Soto lineage in February 2010. Rev. Do-on was acknowledged as Shuso in Feb of 2012."

[836] Diamond Sangha Teachers Circle Open Letter To John Tarrant
"December 16, 1999
Dear John,
We are writing out of our various relationships with you [...]
Over the past three years [= 1996-1999 - tmc], we have received from your aggrieved members of your sangha numerous, unsolicited complaints of
misconduct on your part. [...]
Several of us have received your private acknowledgement that there is substance to at least some of the complaints and that
you feel remorse for some of youre actions. Others of us have been rebuffed, criticized, or ignored. [...]
At this point, we have seen and heard enough to know that you stand accused of serious, persistent abuses of power and
boundary violations by a significant number of former ifficers and members of CDS, many of whom regarded themselves as
dear friends of yours. This is not simply an in-house problem [....]
Many of us feel we have waited far too patiently already, giving too much heed to your needs, too little heed to the
needs of those who left the CDS bitter and agonised, in some cases emotionally or psychologically devastated [...]
In particular, we ask that you commit yourself genuinely and publicly to [...] examining how your words or actions might
have caused or occasioned their suffering, and - where warranted and desired - embarking with them on a course of
restorative justice [...]

An Open Letter on Journalistic Integrity and the Shambhala Sun [re. J. Tarrant's
eulogy of the late Robert Aitken (1917-2010), the November 2010 Shambhala Sun magazine]
"[...] Dr. Tarrant's relationship with Aitken Roshi ruptured in the late 1990s and never recovered. Concerned that Dr.
Tarrant's approach to Zen had gone seriously awry, for a year Aitken Roshi discreetly pressed him to pull his group out of
the Diamond Sangha. This unhappy separation finally took place in 1999 but turned out to be a prelude to an even more painful
break: when repeated and persuasive allegations of misconduct on Dr. Tarrant's part -- professional (in his work as a
psychotherapist), sexual, and organizational -- came to light, after private efforts to encourage resolution proved
unsuccessful, Aitken Roshi and ten other Diamond Sangha teachers issued [in 2000] an open letter [see the link at #836], urging their former colleague to
mend his ways. Dr. Tarrant reacted angrily. Communication between the two men came to an end. [...]"
